When should I book my wedding hair trial?
Good question - I encourage my brides to book in their trial at least a few months before the wedding. This time frame allows us to make a plan for growing, colouring, or cutting your hair to suit your ideal bridal style. and allows the time to order and custom colour hair extensions if they are needed. A lot of my brides choose to have their bridal trial booked on the same day as their engagement party, hen's night or bridal shower. Once we have finished with your bridal style I can brush it all out and leave you with a more casual, party ready look.
Can you recreate a specific look from a photo?
Yes I absolutely can. But you get bonus points if it is a photo from my portfolio of a style I have done. I will know exactly what has gone into creating the look and will know if it is possible for you too. Remember a lot of photos you'll see out there are filtered, retouched and even AI generated, and even real life brides have a lot of extensions and padding to give the style the wow factor. When choosing photos for your inspo board, try and hone in on pics that show similar colour, length, density and texture to your own hair, as this will be more achieveable. Always book in a trial so you can ensure that you're comfortable with the stylist, and any details can be worked out in advance, like ordering and customising extensions. The look you are hoping for might look like hair magic, but with preparation and planning you can go for your dream bridal hairstyle.
How long will the hairstyle last on the wedding day?
Your bridal hairstyle will be designed to last all day and all night. It's wedding hair, not everyday hair. The preparation in the lead up to the big day is important, so make sure you follow instructions for deep cleansing and treatments in the weeks and days prior. On the day, having your hair freshly washed and 100% dry is key. The correct layering of products, heat treatments, extensions and padding and finishing products will lock it in place. Often, what looks picture perfect in your professional wedding photos won't feel as natural as your everyday hairstyle, but for a style to last as long as possible we want to give it the best chance possible. If you're worried about your hair not lasting because your curls have aways dropped before, we have an entire playbook of tricks to solve any problem!
I am wearing a black wedding dress, how can my hairstyle reflect our wedding theme?
I love that you're embracing a bold theme with a black wedding dress! For your hairstyle, we can really play into the dramatic, romantic elements of the gothic aesthetic. We could explore intricate braids, vintage waves, or a sleek, modern updo, and perhaps incorporate dark or metallic hair accessories like black roses, lace, or gothic-inspired hairpins. We can also experiment with texture and volume to give you a mystical, timeless look that perfectly complements your unique style and wedding theme.
